Why updates matter and how Get Support can help
At Get Support IT Services, we know that software updates are more than just bug fixes. They patch vulnerabilities, unlock new features, and keep your systems running smoothly. But with updates rolling out constantly across desktops, laptops, and smartphones, it can be tricky to keep up.
That’s where we come in — for the devices we manage.
We take care of patching and updates for all supported Windows and macOS workstations as part of our managed IT services. So our clients can focus on running their businesses, knowing their systems are secure and up to date.
Smartphones? Most clients have users with personal mobile phones, so unless you have corporate phones with an MDM soloution that pushes updates, users should be doing this. Often, even if you have auto update turned on, it does not always work.
Why you should update:
- Security: Updates patch known vulnerabilities and protect against cyber threats.
- Performance: New versions often include speed boosts and stability improvements.
- Compatibility: Updated systems work better with newer apps and devices.
- Compliance: Some industries require up-to-date systems for regulatory reasons.
How to update
Users need to reboot their devices regularly as part of good house keeping, at least once per week
